Region - Nord Pas De Calais - Region Number 31 - The Main Town: Lille

The most recent structure of the French local government, the area became local authority following the laws of decentralization, on March 16, 1986, date of the first election of the regional advisers elected by the vote for all; its existence was devoted by the constitutional revision of March 28, 2003.
The regional advisers elect the president of the regional council which manages the budget, directs the personnel and leads the policy of the area. Clean competences of the area relate to mainly the regional planning, the economic development, the vocational training, the construction or the maintenance of the colleges, the rail-bound transports travellers.

Department - Pas-de-Calais - Region Number 62 - Main Town: Arras

Creation of the Revolution (law of December 22, 1789), the department becomes autonomous local community, with a deliberating body and an executive elected, by the law of August 10, 1871. It is managed by a council general elected for 6 years by the vote for all, which elects in its turn a president, executive of the department which prepares and carries out the deliberations of the council general, manages the budget and directs the personnel.

District - Montreuil - District Number 4 - Main Town: Montreuil

The district is an administrative unit of the State. It is the geographical area whose chief town is the sub-prefecture. The sub-prefect is in charge of his administration; he relays the prefect by ensuring the administrative control of the communes of his district. The wording of the district is generally that of the chief town. All common the chief towns belong to a district which carries their name except for the districts of Metz-Countryside (57-4), Thionville-West (57-8) and Strasbourg-Countryside (67-6). The district is a subdivision of the department and a regrouping of cantons which respects the limits of communes.
